The Vogtland forms the very heart of this winter wonderland. Whether skiing, cross-country skiing, winter hiking, sledding, or simply quietly enjoying the silence—here, everyone can find their own rhythm. Destinations such as Klingenthal, Erlbach, Grünbach, and Schöneck are renowned for their quality and snow reliability. Together, they boast a total of 211 kilometers of meticulously groomed trails.

A particular highlight is the *Kammloipe* (Ridge Trail) running between Johanngeorgenstadt and Schöneck. This 36-kilometer route winds its way through the Ore Mountains/Vogtland Nature Park and ranks among Germany's most beautiful cross-country ski trails. Awarded the "Ausgezeichnete Loipe" (Excellent Trail) quality seal and connected to routes leading into Bohemia, it offers a unique sense of spaciousness and freedom.

The Kammloipe between Johanngeorgenstadt and Schöneck is extremely popular among cross-country skiers; this 36-kilometer route through the Ore Mountains/Vogtland Nature Park is one of the most beautiful and snow-reliable trails in Germany.

It holds the title of "Excellent Trail" from the German Ski Association and facilitates ski tours into Bohemia via designated connections

Schöneck features five slopes up to 820 meters in length, ranging in difficulty from easy to intermediate to demanding black runs, thereby offering both beginners and seasoned alpinists the thrill of the descent.

Vogtland is also a region of elite sports: the Vogtland Arena in Klingenthal is one of the most modern ski jumping hills in Europe, and the world's top ski jumpers and Nordic athletes regularly gather here for World Cup and Intercontinental competitions.

The hill record is held by the Norwegian Marius Lindvik, with a jump of 149.5 meters.

The Arena is one of the most popular destinations in the Vogtland region.

On days when no competitions are taking place, visitors can climb the ski jumping hill and admire the panoramic view from high atop the takeoff platform.
